About Conference
In the era of rapidly developing globalization and digitalization, the challenges faced by police and law enforcement agencies worldwide are becoming increasingly complex and diverse. Traditional crimes such as theft and violence are now complemented by new, more sophisticated threats, including cybercrime, terrorism, human trafficking, and transnational crime. In addition, public demands for transparency, accountability, and protection of human rights in law enforcement are also increasing. Therefore, an international forum is needed that can be a place to share knowledge, experience, and innovation in the field of policing and law enforcement..
The Annual International Conference on Police Studies (AICoPS) is designed by the Postgraduate Program of the Police Science College (STIK – PTIK) in collaboration with the Meira Visi Persada Foundation as a global platform for professionals, academics, and policy makers in the field of police and law enforcement to meet, discuss, and collaborate. This conference aims to strengthen the capacity of police institutions through shared learning and collective innovation. Here are some of the main reasons underlying the importance of holding AICoPS:
- Responding to Global Challenges
Cross-border cooperation is essential to face global challenges such as cybercrime, international terrorism, and human trafficking. Through AICoPS, participants from various countries can share strategies and best practices for dealing with cross-border crimes and build stronger international cooperation networks.
- Technological Innovation in Law Enforcement
Technology is evolving rapidly and has a significant impact on the way police work. From the use of big data and predictive analytics to the application of artificial intelligence and advanced forensic technology, technology opens up new opportunities and challenges for law enforcement. AICoPS provides a platform to introduce and discuss the latest technological innovations that can improve the effectiveness and efficiency of police operations.
- Capacity Building and Professionalism
Continuous education and training are essential for the development of police officers’ professionalism capacity. Through various training sessions, workshops, and presentations from international experts, AICoPS will help participants improve their knowledge and skills in various aspects of law enforcement.
- Promoting Transparency and Accountability
The issue of transparency and accountability in law enforcement has become a major concern in many countries. AICoPS will be a forum to discuss new approaches that can improve transparency, build public trust, and ensure accountability in police operations.
- Evidence-Based Policymaking
Effective policy decisions must be based on strong evidence and research. AICoPS will feature researchers and academics who will present their latest studies, providing data and insights that policymakers can use to formulate more effective and efficient law enforcement strategies.
With topics covering technological innovation, global crime prevention strategies, ethical and human rights issues, and evidence-based policy development, AICoPS is expected to make a real contribution to improving the quality and capabilities of law enforcement around the world. The active participation of various stakeholders will enrich the discussion and help create innovative solutions to future challenges.
